4-Year Evidence Based Curriculum

The HIPPY curriculum is designed for parents.
It gives families the tools, guidance, and confidence to take an active role in their child’s learning at home. Each activity is written in a clear, step-by-step format so parents know exactly what to do, what to say, and how to support their child along the way.
With support from a HIPPY Home Visitor, parents practice these activities and build the confidence to turn everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences.

Learning Through Everyday Moments

HIPPY activities are built around the skills children need to be ready for school, while keeping learning fun and engaging.
Activities support development in:

• Language and early literacy
• Math and problem-solving
• Creativity and imagination
• Social and emotional growth
• Physical and motor development

Children learn through hands-on experiences like reading stories, drawing and writing, singing songs, playing games, solving puzzles, and exploring shapes, colors, and everyday objects.

A Structure That Builds Confidence

Each year of the HIPPY program includes carefully designed activity packets that guide parents step-by-step through learning with their child.

• Weekly activity packets (up to 30 weeks per year)
• Storybooks to read and explore together
• Simple materials and hands-on activities
• Tips to adapt activities to each child’s needs

The activities are thoughtfully sequenced so both the parent and child experience success and build confidence over time.
